The rate of accidents among school aged children is worrisome, challenging and concern to all school personnel and stakeholders. Safe living is one of the most critical areas in today’s society. Safety attitudes are more essential for sustainable human development. The task is to impact knowledge of safety education to influence people’s behaviour in and out of the school in order to promote its continuing practice for healthy and safe living. There is need to understand the emergency nature of catastrophe and the procedures to protect ourselves and others, also the safety measures to adopt in schools and the society at large for sustainable human development for accident free home, schools, work place, road and so on. Recommendations were made among others; all hands must be on deck to make sure that all school children are in environment that is hazard free. Operating the behavioural model and epidemiological approach to accident preventions and promoting safety in our schools. Safety measures are to be embraced by all in schools and the society at large,being willing to accept inconveniences for the sake of safety, having respect for rules and regulations especially the halls and stairs, classrooms and auditoriums, playgrounds, laboratories, gymnasium, pool and lockers rooms, fire protection etc. Once all hazards within the school environment are recognized, empowering the removal, or control those that cannot be removed and considering others within the environment by not creating additional hazards will give rooms for sustainable human development.
