This study examined the influence of safety signs and risk assessments on occupational accidents in industrial workplace in Lagos State. Simple random sampling technique was used to select three (3) plastic processing industries in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government Area, Isolo, Lagos State, Nigeria. The sample for this study was made up of five hundred and sixty eight (568) respondents using purposive sampling technique. Two hypotheses were formulated. A self-structured and validated 25-item questionnaire was used as an instrument for data collection with the reliability of 0.82. Descriptive statistics of frequency and simple percentage and inferential statistics of chisquare were used for analyzing the data. The results obtained led to the rejection of the two hypotheses tested at 0.05 level of significance. Findings revealed that the use of safety signs and risk assessments in plastic processing industries significantly influence occupational accidents. The study recommended that employers should ensure that safety signs are displayed at strategic points within the work environment. Employers and employees should be sanctioned by the Government for not following adequate health and safety in the workplace.
